Delicious Vegan Choices in Vancouver

This post contains a list of some delicious vegan choices in Vancouver. This list includes restaurants, cafes and food trucks. Not all of these places are completely vegan but have great options for vegans to choose from. 

Living in Vancouver, I’m blessed to be near so many great vegan food places. The sheer number of vegan restaurants, cafes, food trucks, and stands outnumbers any I had in any other Canadian city.

There is a thriving vegan culture in Vancouver and I’m so grateful to sample some amazing vegan foods across the area! In this article, I’ve listed my absolute current favourites and some more go-to options!

Vegan Choices in Vancouver

Do Chay (Vegan Options)

Known for its Vietnamese-inspired vegan cuisine, Do Chay offers a modern and innovative dining experience.

Their menu features a range of plant-based dishes, including flavorful rice bowls, fresh spring rolls, and delectable vegan pho. The restaurant combines traditional Vietnamese flavours with a contemporary twist.

Chickpea (Vegan)

Chickpea is a beloved vegan eatery in Vancouver that specializes in a fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.

They serve up delicious falafel plates, hearty wraps, and colourful salads, all bursting with flavour. Chickpea prides itself on its warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a popular spot for casual dining. They also have a food truck!

Viet Family (Vegan)

Viet Family is one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Vancouver that offers an array of Vietnamese dishes, appetizers and sweet treats.

From vegan pho and banh mi to tasty rice plates and refreshing Vietnamese iced coffee with coconut milk, their menu highlights the vibrant and aromatic flavours of Vietnamese cuisine.

East is East (Vegan Options)

East is East offers a fusion of flavours from the Middle East, India, and Afghanistan. This vegan-friendly establishment serves up aromatic curries, wholesome grain bowls, and mouthwatering wraps.

The cozy ambiance, live music, and friendly staff contribute to a delightful dining experience. Their feast plate is their all-you-can-eat option, where you can try a variety of salads, soups, and mains!

Kozak Ukrainian Eatery (Vegan Options)

Kozak Ukrainian Eatery specializes in Ukrainian cuisine with lots of vegan foods and baked goods. They offer a variety of traditional dishes like vegan borscht, pierogies, and cabbage rolls, all made with plant-based ingredients.

The restaurant aims to provide an authentic Ukrainian dining experience with a vegan twist.

Virtuous Pie (Vegan)

A pizza paradise for both vegans and non-vegans alike, Virtuous Pie serves up an array of creative, planet-friendly pizzas.

Virtuous Pie is the place to enjoy classic and inventive pies without compromising your values. Their seasonal cannolis and focaccia with garlic sauce are amazing!

Vegan Shoku (Vegan)

Vegan Shoku is a Japanese-style restaurant providing vegan fish and meat alternatives in classic sushi dishes. Their plant-based sushi, ramen, and more are not only delicious but also respectful of your ethical choices.

It’s the perfect spot to savour the essence of Japan with a cruelty-free twist.

All their plant-based fish and meats are made from yam and tofu!

To Live For (Vegan)

To Live For is a lovely cafe In Vancouver that has a beautiful interior for lounging and relaxing. From nourishing smoothie bowls to French-inspired vegan baked treats, this cafe is a delight to visit.

To Live For also supplies a lot of other cafes with vegan treats so look out for their name!

Bonus Bakery (Vegan)

Bonus Bakery has the most unique vegan treats in Downtown Vancouver. With their famous cookies, brownies, and croissants, it’s a sweet spot where everyone can find something to love. Their specialty cookies are awesome!

Cartems (Vegan Options)

Cartems Donuterie is a haven for donut lovers seeking something extraordinary. From classic flavours to inventive, seasonal creations, Cartems never seems to disappoint.

They have gluten-free options, along with a variety of different yeasted, and baked donuts. My favourite is their apple fritter!

Grounds & Greens Cafe (Vegan)

Grounds & Greens Cafe is your neighbourhood oasis for wholesome meals and quality coffee.

Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast or a satisfying lunch, they offer a menu that combines fresh ingredients with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to refuel and relax.

Level V Bakery (Vegan)

Level V Bakery is a vegan bakery that creates delectable plant-based pastries and desserts. From flaky croissants and cinnamon rolls to decadent cakes and tarts, their menu is sure to satisfy any dessert lover.

Level V Bakery also has a little shop where you can buy all types of zero-waste gadgets and vegan-branded accessories.

Vegan Pudding and Co (Vegan)

The Vegan Pudding Co is a window stand on Richards St in downtown. The stand has wonderful velvety chocolate to creamy coconut, and their dairy-free puddings redefine the classic treat.

It’s a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth, and exploring the downtown core.

Veg-Out (Vegan)

Veg-Out is a beloved vegan food truck that offers a diverse range of plant-based comfort food. They are known for their delicious vegan burgers, loaded fries, and creative sandwiches.

Veg-Out frequently participates in local farmers’ markets and food festivals, bringing their tasty creations to the community.
